Take-Two Interactive has acquired mobile game company Zynga in a deal valued at $12.7 billion. It was said that Zynga had been looking to expand into next-generation platforms, which is Take-Two’s speciality with games such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock Borderlands and NBA 2K. And this deal now gives Take-Two a solid position in mobile games. The deal is expected to close in Q1 2023, making this the largest acquisition to date in the games industry – Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda for $7.5 billion and Tencent’s purchase of Supercell for $8.57 billion.
