Adobe has integrated Firefly generative AI capabilities into Substance 3D Sampler and Stager, marking a significant advancement in 3D workflows for industrial designers, game developers, and VFX professionals. These new features, Text to Texture and Generative Background, streamline and enhance 3D texturing and staging tasks, saving time and boosting creativity.

The Text to Texture feature in Substance 3D Sampler allows users to generate photorealistic or stylized textures for 3D objects from simple text prompts, eliminating the need for physical prototypes or manual photography. Meanwhile, the Generative Background feature in Substance 3D Stager empowers users to create detailed background images from text prompts and seamlessly composite objects into scenes with intelligent perspective and lighting matching.

These innovations accelerate the creative review process, making design workflows more efficient and seamless. Sebastien Deguy, Vice President, 3D & Immersive at Adobe, highlighted the importance of these integrations, emphasizing that they unlock new realms of creative possibility while streamlining the creative process.

For professionals in various industries, including gaming, VFX, and marketing, these updates offer quicker ideation, enhanced creative freedom, and the ability to generate high-quality textures and environments at reduced time and cost. Additionally, Adobe Firefly incorporates Content Credentials, providing verifiable details about the creative process, enhancing transparency in digital content creation.

Beta versions of Substance 3D Sampler 4.4 and Stager 3.0 featuring these new features will be demonstrated at GDC 2024 and accessible to Substance 3D customers starting March 18. These updates reflect Adobe’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital creativity and supporting the evolving needs of designers and artists worldwide.
