King River Capital, Immutable, and Polygon Labs have teamed up to launch the $100M Inevitable Games Fund (IGF

This web3 fund brings together Immutable and Polygon Labs who will identify opportunities for investors across the ecosystem. Managed by King River Capital, with support from Immutable and Polygon Labs, the fund targets high-growth prospects in the web3 gaming space.

IGF’s investor base comprises select professional and sophisticated investors, with an initial cap set at US$100 million. Notable backers include Alpha Wave Ventures, Merit Circle, and prominent figures like Mike Arrington and Sandeep Nailwal. The fund has already earmarked seven early-stage investments, including Pixelmon and Metalcore, showcasing its commitment to pioneering projects in decentralised gaming.

With King River Capital’s venture and digital asset expertise combined with Immutable and Polygon Labs’ deal flow, the fund is well-positioned to tap into the multi-billion dollar gaming industry. Zeb Rice of King River Capital sees immense potential in the web3 gaming shift, likening it to the mobile gaming revolution of the past decade. Robbie Ferguson of Immutable expresses enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting their collective ability to identify top-tier gaming opportunities globally.

The gaming sector’s exponential growth is evident, with blockchain gaming investments reaching $19 billion since 2018. PwC forecasts further expansion, with global gaming revenue projected to reach $312 billion by 2027, driven by decentralisation, play-and-earn models, and emerging technologies. With its strategic alliances and forward-thinking approach, the Inevitable Games Fund is poised to capitalize on this transformative trend in digital entertainment.
