Apple’s Generative AI Technology Not Expected to Launch in 2024, Analyst Says – Fagen Wasanni Technologies

Apple is reportedly falling behind in the race to develop a generative AI model, with no plans to launch a dedicated product or service based on the technology next year. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, Apple has nothing of value to show in terms of AI development in its upcoming earnings report.

Rumors of Apple working on a generative AI model, referred to as “Apple GPT,” have been circulating for some time. However, it appears that the company needs more time to refine and finalize the product before it can enter the market.

In contrast, ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, has gained significant popularity and has broken download records on iOS. The recent release of ChatGPT on Android has further expanded its user base. While ChatGPT 3.5 is free for all platforms, the latest GPT-4 update is only available to subscribers of the service. OpenAI has leveraged ChatGPT as a source of revenue and continues to invest in its improvement.
