Bandai Namco Research and blockchain platform Oasys have partnered to launch an AI-driven virtual pet NFT game, marking a significant step for gaming companies as they embrace the potential of blockchain and NFT in digital entertainment.
The innovative game, RYUZO, is an amalgamation of blockchain and gaming, featuring digital creatures known as RYU, developed by Bandai Namco Research in collaboration with Japanese startup Attructure. The game, published by Double Jump.Tokyo, allows users to engage with their virtual pets, strengthening its artificial intelligence abilities based on user engagement.
Following the trend of other major gaming companies such as Ubisoft and Sega, Bandai Namco’s adoption of blockchain has given impetus to incorporating these decentralized technologies within the gaming industry. This collaboration with Oasys ensures a more secure gaming experience while opening up opportunities for monetization through the underlying blockchain technology.
The RYUZO game also highlights the growing trend of merging artificial intelligence with gaming. As players engage with their AI-driven virtual pets, the game learns and adapts, providing a more advanced gaming experience. This fusion of AI and blockchain is a testament to the potential of integrating cutting-edge technology into gaming products.
Tomohiro Mizuno, the founder of Attructure, shared his insights on this technological convergence: “The integration of artificial intelligence into RYUZO allows for an immersive experience where users not only participate in shaping their virtual pet’s abilities but also witness the growth and learning process facilitated by AI. The use of blockchain and NFTs adds an extra layer of security and ownership, making the game truly one of its kind in the current gaming landscape.”
